Inclusive football at MCFC

Pan-disability football.

Football should be a place where every player can belong. Our pan-disability programme provides a supportive environment for young people to enjoy the game, develop skills, build confidence and be part of the Colts family.

Everyone deserves to play

Football built around the player.

Our sessions are open to children and young people with a disability, impairment or long-term health condition, whether physical or otherwise. Players can take part in pan-disability football even if they also play in mainstream grassroots football.

01

Football skills.

Enjoyable, appropriate sessions that help players develop their technical ability and understanding of the game.

02

Confidence.

A positive environment where players can progress at their own pace, try new things and celebrate their achievements.

03

Belonging.

Friendships, teamwork and interpersonal skills are just as important as what happens with the ball.

Our teams

Part of the Colts. Not separate from it.

Our pan-disability teams are part of Maidenbower Colts Football Club and share the same commitment to safe, enjoyable and player-centred football.

Younger age group · Ages 8–12

Sessions for younger players focus on enjoyment, confidence, fundamental football skills and developing at a pace appropriate to each individual.

InclusivePlayer-centredSupportive

Older age group · Ages 12–16

Older players continue developing their football and social skills with opportunities to train, build friendships and, where appropriate, participate in disability league football.

Growing our pan-disability pathway

Help us build the next teams.

As our pan-disability section grows, we want to create more opportunities for players to continue enjoying football with Maidenbower Colts as they get older.

NEW TEAM

Under 18s

We are currently looking for players interested in joining a new pan-disability Under 18s team. If you are looking for an inclusive and supportive football environment, we would love to hear from you.

EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST

Adult team

We are also exploring the possibility of creating an adult pan-disability team. We are inviting prospective players and families to register their interest so we can understand the demand and plan the next stage of the section.

NO COMMITMENT

Tell us you're interested.

Expressing interest does not commit you to joining. It simply helps the Club understand how many players may be interested and allows us to keep you updated as plans develop.

Interested? Contact Maidenbower Colts and tell us whether you are enquiring about the new Under 18s team or a future adult team. We will keep your details and contact you with the relevant next steps.
Before your first session

Tell us about the player.

Every player is different. A short conversation before attending helps us understand how we can make their football experience as positive and accessible as possible.

Parents and carers are encouraged to tell us about any disability, health condition, communication need, sensory need or other support that may help our coaches understand the player.
  • Can my child try a session?Yes. Contact us first and we can discuss the most suitable group and current session arrangements.
  • Do they need football experience? No. Players can join with different levels of experience and ability.
  • Can they also play mainstream football?Yes. Pan-disability participation does not prevent a player from also taking part in mainstream grassroots football where appropriate.
  • Where do you train?Venues and times can change by season and age group, so current details should be shown directly from the Club Portal.
A safe environment

Safeguarding comes first.

The welfare of every child and young person is our priority. Pan-disability football operates within Maidenbower Colts' safeguarding framework, Codes of Conduct and Club policies, with coaches and Club officials expected to provide a safe, respectful and inclusive environment.

SAFE

Safeguarding.

Concerns about a child or young person's welfare can be raised with the Club Welfare Officer through our safeguarding arrangements.

INCLUSIVE

Individual needs.

We recognise that players may communicate, learn, respond and participate differently and we aim to make reasonable adjustments where appropriate.

RESPECT

Positive football.

Players, coaches, parents and spectators all contribute to an environment where everyone is valued and treated with dignity.
