Born in Maidenbower and built by volunteers, families and players. We exist to give children and young people the opportunity to play, develop and enjoy football in a safe, positive environment.
From a handful of children to a thriving grassroots club.
Maidenbower Colts Football Club started life in March 1998 with a handful of children and the support of parents Andy Hains, Jo Capstick and Rosemary Dixon, who helped provide the kit and equipment needed to get the Club started.
The ambition was simple: create a football club in Maidenbower where lots of local children could play. Those first few players soon became organised age-group teams, supported by enthusiastic parents, volunteers and coaches.
Today, Maidenbower Colts remains a family-orientated grassroots club with the same fundamental purpose — giving children and young people the opportunity to enjoy football and be part of a positive club community.
Football should be enjoyable, safe and open to everyone.
Our priority is the safety and well-being of everyone under the Maidenbower Colts umbrella. Development matters, results matter — but neither comes before the player.

We want players to enjoy football, develop at an appropriate pace, build confidence and create friendships that extend beyond matchday.

Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators all have a part to play in creating a positive football environment.

The Club exists because volunteers give their time, experience and energy. That community spirit has been part of MCFC since 1998.

Maidenbower Colts is not affiliated with a professional football club — deliberately. Our focus is grassroots football and doing what is right for our players and Club community.
Players join us from Maidenbower and the surrounding area, with teams participating across local leagues including Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex.

We are proud to hold England Football Accredited status, reflecting our commitment to high standards in grassroots football, player development and club operations.
FA Respect
Respect is expected throughout the Club. Our players, spectators, coaches and officials are required to follow our Codes of Conduct and help make football safe and enjoyable.

We are proud of how far Maidenbower Colts has come, but the Club's story is still being written. Our aim is to keep improving the experience we provide while protecting the family, volunteer-led culture that made the Club what it is.
