Player development

Player pathways.

Football can open doors far beyond matchday. We want young people at Maidenbower Colts to have opportunities to develop skills, confidence and experience that stay with them for life.

Beyond the pitch

Helping young people find their path.

The Committee and Coaching staff at Maidenbower Colts are committed to giving youth players opportunities to develop throughout their time with the club.

Alongside football development, we want to create experiences that help young people explore coaching, refereeing, careers in football and wider life skills.

The journey

From player to opportunity.

There is no single route. A player might want to coach, referee, work in football, volunteer, or simply develop transferable skills and confidence.

1

Show an interest

Speak with a coach or the Club Development Officer about an area you would like to explore.

2

Get support

The club can help identify suitable training, mentoring, qualifications, workshops or practical experience.

3

Gain experience

Where suitable, opportunities can be provided within the Colts environment so young people can learn with support around them.

4

Take the next step

Use that experience to continue within the club, progress to further qualifications or explore opportunities beyond MCFC.

What we can offer
